COX GIVING

Act Generously

When it comes to helping others, nothing matters more than action. Cox Enterprises brings this approach to life with volunteerism and philanthropic support across our businesses, totaling tens of thousands of volunteer hours every year and millions of dollars’ worth of grants. Cox companies and the James M. Cox Foundation collectively gave more than $119 million in 2016 and $116 million in 2015, which included cash, in-kind and public service announcements. Our total combined community investment over the past two years is more than $235 million.

Team Cox is Cox’s enterprise-wide, employee-powered volunteer force. Doing the right thing for the environment and the community is at the very core of who we are. Every day, Team Cox volunteers in Atlanta and across the nation in markets served by our businesses – Cox Communications, Cox Automotive and Cox Media Group – make a difference where we live and work through volunteer projects that protect our waterways, preserve our land and improve our communities. The Cox Giving Campaign is our annual drive that engages and inspires our employees to give to the nonprofit of their choice.

Cox’s corporate giving program supports our national environmental and diversity partners; nonprofit organizations in Atlanta focused on preserving the environment, empowering individuals, families and communities, and promoting diversity and inclusion; and grassroots initiatives in our many markets across the country.

Cox is also in a unique position to generate awareness through in-kind media support at our television and radio stations, newspapers and digital properties. We provide financial support, public service announcements and donate in-kind media to the Ad Council and many other nonprofit organizations in support of our giving priorities.

Through the James M. Cox Foundation, we have made grants to leading nonprofits working in the areas of early childhood education, health, conservation and the environment, and empowerment of individuals and families. Our philanthropic priorities are focused in segments where we can have a significant impact with programs that achieve measurable results.
